Ace Multiple 220v Outlets One Breaker
I dont know what you are talking about there isnt 110 or 220v in the us.
Multiple 220v outlets one breaker. I have a 3hp 220 tablesaw running on a separate 30amp breaker. What you need to consider is how many of those outlets will be in use at a given time and the expected current draw from what will be plugged in to them. I know we do it all the time on 110 plug in a circuit strip and plug up to six units into it.
Hey and good day. If you have connected the sockets with 10 gauge don t run more than 30 amps of equipment at once and install a 30 amp breaker in the line. If you are talking splitting the circuit into two 110 120v outlets then definitely no in 208 220 240v services the single neutral return wire does not see full power because the two incoming hot leads are out.
Can i in effect put a splitter on that outlet and run a 16 000 btu window air conditioning unit on that same line. There is no limit to the number of outlets you may connect on a single circuit breaker but your use of 12 2 wire limits it to a 20 amp breaker. Tug the wires fairly hard dont twist though to make sure you have a solid connection everywhere.
Connect the red to one of the bottom screws and the black to the opposite bottom screw. If you split two 208 220 240v appliances off one circuit when only one is running the breaker will be grossly oversized for it so not providing the protection you should have. You can put as many 220 outlets as you like on the single 30 amp breaker so long as whatever you plug into those outlets does not exceed a combined 30 amps.
Do the same to the top 2 screws keeping the same color wire on each side and run that top connection to your next receptacle and repeat. You could call an electrician. It is completely safe.
